A couple of weekends ago, I attended RATTLER FEST in Cornwall, a 3 day music festival that took place on Healey’s cyder farm (the home of Rattler). Owing to other engagements, I was only able to attend on the Friday and Saturday and I knew that I was going to miss Adam Isaac, someone that I haven’t seen perform for a couple of years. I was gutted but I really needed to be elsewhere so after the event, I got in touch with the PR company and arranged to chat to Adam so I could create this interview feature.

You may or may not know that Adam has had a rough couple of years with his health and I was keen to find out more about that as well as his musical background and what kept him going during his recovery, read on to learn more…..

The Leicester-born R&B singer will play shows in Dublin, Glasgow, Sheffield, Liverpool, Brighton, Cardiff and Oxford, before concluding the tour in her hometown at the O2 Academy Leicester on May 27.

Following the recent release of their new album “Small World”, Metronomy are currently on the road, promoting it around the UK, we were invited to attend the show at the O2 in Bristol to see how it translated to the big stage, read on to find out if it hit the mark….

After playlist #50 went live, I had just a few new tracks to showcase for you so decided to take a couple of weeks off, now I’ve had a bit of a rest from doing them every 2-3 days, I will be approaching things a little slower, that’s not to say that if a sudden deluge of new material comes beating down my door that I won’t be uploading it as soon as I can but I don’t anticipate having to do so 3-4 times a week which was really starting to take its toll on me (I’m 50 in a couple of months!)

So, we have another 9 incredible acts and bands for you, there are some real gems in amongst this collection, please make time to listen to them all and explore them further if you can, the second act ‘My Baby’ are an incredible live act and have just dropped a new record, plenty of new material to check out right there!

As we near the end of April, dare I say that Summer is finally on the way? the clocks have gone forward, we have an extra hour in the day and that has certainly benefitted my 2 dogs who now get an evening walk instead of just a daytime trip to the park.

We are now starting to hit festival season and this weekend, I’m off to RATTLERFEST which is a small festival in Cornwall that takes place on a cider farm, what could possibly go wrong? Bands including Utah Saints, Dub Pistols & The Feeling will be playing, Scott Mills off the radio will be there to play a live DJ set full of club bangers and there are LOADS of other bands and acts performing over the 3 days across a variety of stages, can’t wait to get down there and get involved!

Tonight, Bristol O2 Academy saw legendary Britpop heroes SLEEPER performing a show celebrating the 25th anniversary of their sophomore album ‘The IT Girl’.

Released in 1996, the album has gone platinum with over 300,000 sales worldwide and it spawned 4 top 20 singles which really helped to out the band on the map alongside other Britpop acts such as Suede, Blur, Pulp, Elastica and Supergrass.

These days, the term ‘legend’ is used a little too loosely for my liking, a ‘legend’ to some might be a mate who gets a round in at the bar, is a designated driver on a stag night or someone who books the annual Club 18-30 holiday to Benidorm but to me, a ‘legend’ is someone who has made a real impact in their chosen field, a sports personality, an inventor or maybe a member of a world famous group called Sister Sledge who found their fame in the 70s and became pin-ups of the disco movement. Imagine my surprise when I get a call from a friend who runs a PR company, asking if I’d like to interview Kathy Sledge, the primary vocalist of Sister Sledge……believe me, after I wound my jaw back up, I was keen as mustard to make this happen. A call was set up with Kathy, me in my son’s bedroom, her on a settee in her fine looking home in Pennsylvania and armed with a bunch of questions, I went to work.

There’s something to be said about walking around a field in the heart of Cornwall, the gentle Spring air blowing through your hair and the sound of live music in the background. This was what I was greeted with when I arrived at Rattlerfest, a festival that takes place on Healeys Cider Farm which is a nestled nicely in Penhallow, a small village between Truro and Newquay. The only thing I was keeping everything crossed for was the weather, would it behave? Hey, this is Cornwall, it’s ALWAYS sunny in Cornwall they told me, read on to find out if it did indeed behave itself and to learn more about how my weekend went.

We chat to talented rock trio Everafter, based in East London. In January 2022, Everafter recorded their brand new single ‘ASAP’ with producer Matt Williams at Soundlab Studios in Debden. Once again the band have created a heavy sounding hard rock track and are really pleased with Matt’s production – the song has now been released and is available for streaming. We warn you, it's epic.

At the start of April, hip-hop artist M. J. Meyers released his debut album, a 7-track long body of work called Hollow Shell of a Better Man (A Painful Representation of an Unsatisfying Existence).

With this energetic, single beaming full of life there is a slightly darker and more personal side to the song with SPACEJVNKY showing his emotions through the power of his music.

Finally getting to play at the revered Liverpool Philharmonic a good eighteen months after the originally planned date (thanks to you-know-what!) former Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and his band brought a raft of rarely played tracks to the masses on what is being termed the 'Echoes Tour'. I for one was hoping this meant an airing for the 25-minute opus and before 'Dark Side of the Moon' was released, arguably Floyd's finest achievement to that point - but more on that later.

Yes folks, quite possibly the BEST little festival in the Southwest is back with a vengeance and the lineup is looking hotter than ever this year!
